GDF says opposes unbundling of energy networks

PARIS, Sept 12 (Reuters) - Gaz de France GAZ.PA chief executive Jean-Francois Cirelli said on Wednesday he was not in favour of unbundling of energy networks and a compromise idea for an independent system operator.

Unbundling — the separation of power production and distribution — is proposed by the European Commission as a means to encourage competition in energy markets.

“We are clearly opposed to the unbundling of energy networks,” Cirelli told a gas conference in Paris.
