ATHENS, Oct 6 (Reuters) - Greece’s new socialist prime minister on Tuesday appointed Louka Katseli as economy minister and George Papaconstantinou finance minister after splitting the job into two to signal his focus on the economic crisis.
Katseli, 57, helped draft the tax-and-spend economic plan that appealed to voters and played a role in returning George Papandreou’s socialists to power. EU lawmaker Papaconstantinou, 47, has served as Papandreou’s economic adviser and party spokesman.
Papandreou gave himself the job of foreign minister.
