CORRECTED-Egypt's stock exchange suspends trading for half an hour after EGX100 rises by more than 5% in early trading

CAIRO, March 23 (Reuters) - Egypt’s stock exchange suspended trading for 30 minutes on Monday after the EGX 100 index rose by 5%, bourse data showed.

President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi said on Sunday Egypt will allocate 20 billion Egyptian pounds ($1.27 billion)to support the stock exchange, battered by the impact of the spreading coronavirus on the economy.
