Norway's central bank offers 3-month loans to banks amid virus outbreak

OSLO, March 12 (Reuters) - The Norwegian central bank will offer extra liquidity to banks in the form of three-month loans amid market turmoil caused by the coronavirus outbreak, it said on Thursday.

“The loans are being offered to ensure that the policy rate passes through to money market rates,” Norges Bank said in a statement. (Reporting by Terje Solsvik; Editing by Kevin Liffey)
