Spain wants a say in Air Europa's M&A decisions, two board seats as part of aid package

MADRID, Nov 3 (Reuters) - The Spanish government wants a say in Air Europa’s potential merger and acquisition operations, as well as two board seats in exchange for a 475 million euro state aid package, government spokeswoman Maria Jesus Montero said on Tuesday.

The Spanish airline is currently in the process of being taken over by London-based airlines group IAG.

The government also wants to participate in the nomination of the airline’s chief executive and in any layoff plans, Montero said. (Reporting by Inti Landauro, Emma Pinedo; Editing by Nathan Allen)
