Swiss finance minister rules out tax hikes to pay for COVID-19 measures

ZURICH, Nov 4 (Reuters) - Switzerland will not raise taxes next year to pay for the measures to support the country’s economy during the COVID-19 crisis, Finance Minister Ueli Maurer said on Wednesday.

“A tax increase would be certainly the false move, because we need air and room to move,” Maurer said. “We need strong spending discipline.” (Reporting by John Revill and John Miller)
