TUI Q1 op loss widens, eyes positive 2009 results

FRANKFURT, May 11 (Reuters) - TUI AG (TUIGn.DE), owner of Europe’s largest travel company TUI Travel TT.L, said on Monday it still expected to post a 2009 profit after its first-quarter underlying operating loss widened.

Its underlying loss before interest, tax and amortisation widened to 324.2 million euro ($427 million) from a loss of 213.7 million in the same period last year, missing the average estimate for a loss of 304 million in a Reuters analyst poll.
