BOJ's Kuroda paints upbeat view on global economy despite market rout

NUSA DUA, Indonesia, Oct 12 (Reuters) - Bank of Japan Governor Haruhiko Kuroda said on Friday there were some adjustments seen in financial markets but this did not change the view that global growth prospects remained solid.

“There’s no change to the solid fundamentals of Japan, the United States and European economies,” Kuroda told a news conference after a Group of 20 finance leaders’ gathering, adding that corporate profits also remained strong.

“We will continue to carefully watch the impact domestic and overseas market moves could have on Japan’s economy and prices,” Kuroda said.

The BOJ will conduct a quarterly review of its long-term economic and price forecasts at its rate review this month. (Reporting by Leika Kihara; Editing by Simon Cameron-Moore)
