Imperial Brands plans to sell worldwide premium cigar business

April 30 (Reuters) - Imperial Brands Plc said on Tuesday the British tobacco group plans to sell its global premium cigar business as a part of its divestment plan to cut debt and reinvest the money to further growth.

The company’s divestment programme, which is expected to generate proceeds of up to 2 billion pounds ($2.61 billion), Imperial said, adding that it has already generated 280 million pounds through sales and divestitures.
