Italy to cut tax breaks on banks' interest payments - Deputy PM

ROME, Oct 11 (Reuters) - The Italian government will cut tax breaks on banks’ interest payments in the forthcoming 2019 budget, Deputy Prime Minister Luigi Di Maio told Italian news website Tiscali News.

Last week a government source told Reuters the government could reduce the amount of interest payments and writedowns that banks could deduct from their taxable income.
