ECONOMY

ISTAT releases July unemployment data (0800 GMT); August flash CPI and HICP data (0900 GMT).

Reuters releases August asset allocation poll (1200 GMT).

COMPANIES (*) TELECOM ITALIA

Prometeon CEO Paolo Dal Pino, former Wind CEO Maximo Ibarra, former Leonardo CEO Mauro Moretti, CDP director general Fabio Gallia, as well as TIM’s board members Giuseppe Recchi and Franco Bernabe are on the list of possible CEO candidates for the company drawn up by head hunting firm Egon Zhender, Corriere della Sera said on Thursday. It said TIM wanted to widen the search and had tasked two other head hunters, Russel Reynolds and Spencer Stuart, to this effect.

Il Messaggero reported Vivendi was trying to find a compromise with the Italian government to avert a 300 million euros fine. A possible option could be state holding CDP taking a 10 percent stake in TIM, it said.

The government commission deciding on whether Vivendi should have notified Rome it had taken actual control of Telecom Italia meets again on Thursday, Il Sole 24 Ore said.

Il Messaggero said on Thursday that a draft agreement between Italy and France would give Fincantieri and French stakeholders joint control of STX shipyards, with the Italian company appointing the chairman and the general manager and the deal being extended to the field of naval defence. It said a meeting between Italian Economy Minister Pier Carlo Padoan, Industry Minister Carlo Calenda and French Economy Minister Bruno Le Maire had been scheduled for Sept. 11 to seal an accord ahead of the Sept. 27 Franco-Italian summit.

The bank is considering 4 offers for the sale of its Milan real estate worth around 100 million euros, Il Sole 24 Ore said. Hines, AEW Capital Management, Triuva and Antirion are the parties interested it said.

The reorganisation of the utility’s activities in Chile is an operation that could easily be worth more than $3 billion, MF said, without citing sources.

AUTOGRILL

The Italian motorway caterer said it had reached an agreement with the New Jersey Turnpike Authority to continue to operate food concessions in 16 service areas on the New Jersey Turnpike and the Garden State Parkway for an additional 25 years.

SAIPEM

Eiffage said it was in talks over buying maritime works business off Saipem, adding Saipem’s maritimes works business had 2016 sales of around 100 million euros.

BRUNO CUCINELLI

Brunello Cucinelli said it had signed an agreement with tax office on Patent Box scheme covering the period 2015-2019, adding it expected to book a tax benefit of 2.9 million euros on 2015 results from the scheme.

JUVENTUS

Juventus have signed Germany defender Benedikt Hoewedes on a season-long loan from Schalke 04 with an option to buy him, the Italian champions said on Wednesday.
