ENEL

Italy’s biggest utility acquired 73 percent of the shares of Brazilian power company Eletropaulo on Monday, paying about 5.55 billion reais ($1.48 billion) to become Brazil’s largest electricity distributor.

POSTE ITALIANE

State lender CDP is about to transfer its remaining stake in payment services group SIA to the Italian post office, Il Sole 24 Ore reported. CDP may use the stake as payment for a reserved new share issue that would allow it to raise its 35 percent holding in Poste, the paper added.

POSTE ITALIANE, ASSICURAZIONI GENERALI, UNIPOLSAI

Poste has invited bids from insurers interested in striking a partnership with the Italian post office, Il Sole 24 Ore reported, adding Germany’s Allianz may bid alongside Italian rivals Generali and UnipolSai following informal contacts with Poste. The paper said Poste may eventually pick a smaller insurer such as Unipol as Generali’s size gives it more bargaining power.

UniCredit could unveil in coming days a partnership with Generali in eastern Europe, MF reported. The deal is expected to involve also a foreign insurer which could be Allianz, the paper said.

INTESA SANPAOLO

Infrastructure fund F2i has entered exclusive talks with the bank to buy Intesa’s stake in the Brebemi toll road, Il Sole 24 Ore reported.

ASTALDI

The advisers on the sale of a bridge in Turkey which the Italian builder must dispose of as a condition for a 300 million euro recapitalisation are gathering binding bids from potential buyers, Il Sole 24 Ore reported.

UNICREDIT

SocGen denied on Monday any board discussion regarding a potential merger with UniCredit.

ALITALIA

Il Sole 24 Ore quoted WizzAir CEO Josef Varadi as saying the Hungarian carrier is interested in the Italian market but could only make an offer only for some Alitalia assets such as its Linate airports’ slots and not the entire company.

Lufthansa CEO Carsten Spohr was quoted as saying by Il Sole 24 Ore that there were no news on Alitalia and that the German carrier was awaiting the new Italian government.

The financial group has sold the Castello site near Florence to Toscana Aeroporti for 75 million euros, MF reported.

ENEL

Enel bought 73 percent of the shares of Brazilian power company Eletropaulo in an offer at local exchange B3 on Monday, paying around $1.48 billion.

SNAM

Lazard Asset Management has a 5.05 percent stake in Italy’s Snam, market watchdog Consob said.

MONCLER

Blackrock has 5.083 percent of Moncler, market watchdog Consob said.

ASCOPIAVE

The Italian utility and smaller peer Anita said they had signed a letter of intent aimed at combining their gas distribution businesses by merging Anita into Ascopiave.

UNIEURO

Annual general meeting (1230 GMT).
