South African insurer Liberty's headline earnings fall 17 pct in 2018

JOHANNESBURG, Feb 28 (Reuters) - South African insurer Liberty Holdings Ltd said on Thursday its normalised headline earnings fell by 17 percent to 2.26 billion rand ($162.27 million) in the year to Dec. 31.

The company, a unit of Standard Bank, said normalised headline earnings per share - the key profit measure in South Africa - came in at 817.9 cents, compared to 982.1 cents in 2017. ($1 = 13.9272 rand) (Reporting by Emma Rumney; Editing by Subhranshu Sahu)
