Libya's NOC declares force majeure on loadings from Sharara oilfield

CAIRO, June 9 (Reuters) - Libya’s National Oil Corporation (NOC) declared force majeure on exports from its giant Sharara oilfield on Tuesday after an armed group shut down production at the field days after it had reopened.

“The armed group, which came from Sebha, stormed the Sharara oilfield and pulled their guns on civilian unarmed workers, coercing them to stop production at the field at dawn,” the NOC said in a statement. (Reporting by Aidan Lewis, editing by Louise Heavens)
