Australia's Macarthur increases coal reserves by 38 pct

SYDNEY, May 11 (Reuters) - Australian coal producer Macarthur Coal has increased coal reserves by 38 percent to 2.26 billion tonnes as a result of upgrades at two of its projects, the miner said on Wednesday.

Macarthur said in a statement it was confident demand for coal, especially metallurgical coal, will continue to grow.
