US dollar extends gains versus euro after GDP data

NEW YORK, Nov 23 (Reuters) - The U.S. dollar extended gains versus the euro on Tuesday after data showed the U.S. economy grew faster than previously estimated in the third quarter.

Gross domestic product growth was revised up to an annualized rate of 2.5 percent from 2.0 percent as exports, and consumer and government spending were stronger than initially thought, the Commerce Department said in its second estimate. [nN22286327]

The euro was last at $1.3485, the session low, compared with the $1.3514 it traded at prior to the data release. It was down 1 percent from the prior New York close in the latest trade. (Reporting by Julie Haviv. Editing by W Simon )
