Mexico finance ministry ups 2017 growth in budget forecast

MEXICO CITY, Sept 8 (Reuters) - Mexico’s economy is growing faster than expected this year, Finance Minister Jose Antonio Meade said on Friday, raising the government’s economic growth forecast to between 2.0-2.6 percent from 1.5-2.5 percent.

Meade said the economy would grow between 2-3 percent next year, the same as previous forecasts, at an event at the nation’s lower house of Congress where he handed in the government’s 2018 budget proposal. (Reporting by Sharay Angulo)
