Russia MTS says Turkmen licence suspended for month

MOSCOW, Dec 16 (Reuters) - MTS (MBT.N), Russia’s biggest mobile phone operator, said on Thursday the Turkmen authorities had suspended its licence for one month from Dec. 21 due to unspecified violations.

Turkmenistan accounted for 1.9 percent of MTS’ total sales in the first nine months of 2010 and for 2.7 percent of its operating income before depreciation and amortisation, MTS said in a statement.
