Nigeria's central bank governor says on verge of announcing agreement on MTN

ABUJA, Nov 22 (Reuters) - Nigeria’s central bank is on the verge of announcing an agreement on MTN, its governor Godwin Emefiele said on Thursday, declining to provide further details.

MTN has been embroiled in an $8.1 billion disagreement with the central bank, which alleges the South African firm illegally remitted the money.

Emefiele said no other company or person is being investigated for similar issues. (Reporting by Chijioke Ohuocha and Camillus Eboh Additional reporting by Didi Akinyelure in Lagos Writing by Paul Carsten)
