Norway's Gassco to improve transparency of gas flows, outage reporting

April 3 (Reuters) - Norway will improve the transparency of its reporting of gas flows to Europe and of outages at its offshore gas fields and onshore processing plants, gas system operator Gassco said on Tuesday.

From Wednesday onwards, Gassco will start reporting on planned maintenance and unplanned outages affecting gas flows by at least 5 million cubic metres (mcm) per day, down from 20 mcm per day previously.

In addition to the information about gas exiting pipelines and entering receiving terminals in Britain, Germany, Belgium and France, Gassco would also provide volumes of gas entering its system to indicate how balanced the system is. (Reporting by Nerijus Adomaitis, editing by Gwladys Fouche)
