BRUSSELS, March 28 (Reuters) - French utility GDF Suez GSZ.PA has gone to court in a bid to recover a 250 million euro ($335 million) tax imposed on nuclear power generators by the Belgian government, a spokeswoman said on Saturday.
GDF Suez owns Belgian energy company Electrabel, which has about 90 percent of nuclear power generation in the country. Belgium imposed the tax on nuclear energy producers last year.
An Electrabel spokeswoman said the company had taken the case to Belgium’s constitutional court earlier this week, demanding the tax be annulled. (Reporting by Pete Harrison)
