BP sees 47,000 bpd Alaska field shut up to Mar 11

NEW YORK, Feb 28 (Reuters) - Oil major BP Plc (BP.L) will not be able to restart its 47,000 barrels per day Northstar oil field in Alaska until “sometime next week,” a BP spokesman said,

BP shut the field Feb. 17 after a worker discovered a leak in the field’s gas plant. A subsequent inspection revealed corrosion in some of the field’s piping. BP expects the repairs of the corroded pipe to last into next week although delays are possible due to the Arctic winter, said BP Alaska spokesman Daren Beaudo.
