Peru cenbank to lower reserve requirements for dollar deposits

LIMA, Aug 22 (Reuters) - Peru’s central bank will lower reserve requirements for deposits in dollars to 41 percent from 42 percent starting in September to help stabilize credit conditions as U.S. interests rates rise, the bank said Tuesday.

The measure should free up some $59 million in Peru’s financial system, the central bank added in a statement. (Reporting by Mitra Taj; Editing by Sandra Maler)
