Russian money market situation normal after pre-lockdown demand for cash

MOSCOW, May 8 (Reuters) - Russian Central Bank Governor Elvira Nabiullina said on Friday there was a spike in demand for cash ahead of lockdown measures imposed to curb the spread of the coronavirus, but that the situation on the money market had since returned to normal.

She added that the central bank would hold a one-month repo auction in late May and that a one-year repo auction was planned for late June. (Reporting by Andrey Ostroukh and Elena Fabrichnaya, Writing by Alexander Marrow, Editing by Mark Heinrich)
