UPDATE 1-Russia's Sakhalin Energy says disruption will not hit LNG exports

(Adds detail)

MOSCOW, Aug 23 (Reuters) - Disruption on one of two production lines at the Sakhalin-2 liquefied natural gas (LNG) project will not have a material impact on the plant’s LNG exports, a spokeswoman at Russia’s Sakhalin Energy said on Thursday.

The company halted a production line at the project on Saturday but production would be restored in the coming days, Larisa Yamomoto said.

An issue with a compressor occurred on the first production line of the LNG project, a source close to one of Sakhalin-2 shareholders told Reuters, adding that maintenance could take five to 15 days.

He said the issue was not expected to have any serious influence on exports as some volumes could be replaced from the storage, although loading of some cargoes might be postponed. (Reporting by Vladimir Soldatkin and Olga Yagova Writing by Olga Yagova and Edmund Blair)
