MOSCOW, Aug 23 (Reuters) - Russia’s largest lender Sberbank said on Thursday its net profit was 215.3 billion roubles ($3.21 billion) in the second quarter, up 16 percent year on year.
Analysts polled by Reuters had on average expected Sberbank to post 203.7 billion roubles in the second-quarter net profit.
Sberbank said its net interest income rose 5.4 percent year on year to 349 billion roubles, while its provisions against bad loans declined to 45.5 billion roubles from 84.1 billion roubles in the same period of 2017.
Sberbank also said it made 427.4 billion roubles in net profit in the first half of 2018. ($1 = 66.9725 roubles) (Reporting by Polina Nikolskaya Editing by Maria Kiselyova)
