OSLO, Sept 20 (Reuters) - Norwegian Air rejected on Thursday a claim by Ryanair Chief Executive Michael O’Leary that the Oslo-based budget carrier faces financial collapse.
O’Leary told reporters at briefing in Dublin that “Norwegian will go bust, it’s just a matter of time.”
“These comments are from the same broken record that has been playing for years and have no root in reality,” Norwegian Air spokesman Lasse Sandaker-Nielsen told Reuters.
“Norwegian continues to fly an increasing number of passengers as we continue to focus on building a strong, sustainable and global business to benefit our customers, employees and shareholders. We’re focusing on our business and we suggest Mr. O’Leary focus on Ryanair,” he added. (Reporting By Ole Petter Skonnord, editing by Terje Solsvik)
