South African economy shrinks 3.2% in Q1 - stats office

PRETORIA, June 4 (Reuters) - South Africa’s economy contracted 3.2% in the first quarter from the previous one, Statistics South Africa data showed on Tuesday.

Economists polled by Reuters had predicted a contraction of 1.7%.
