Saudi central bank governor says attack on Aramco had no monetary impact

KUWAIT, Sept 24 (Reuters) - The September 14 attack on Aramco facilities had no monetary impact, the Saudi central bank governor said in an advance copy of an interview provided by Kuwait’s Al Rai newspaper that will be published on Wednesday.

Governor Ahmed Al-Kholifey added that Saudi banks have not seen any unusual movement for money withdrawals and that overall GDP growth will not be far from IMF forecasts at 2.9%.

Last week, Kholifey told Reuters that the attacks, which knocked out half the Saudi oil output and damaged the world’s biggest crude oil processing plant, were not expected to cause any shortage in Saudi bank’ liquidity.
