LUANDA, Sept 3 (Reuters) - Egypt-based winger Gilberto has been recalled to the Angola squad for the first time since suffering an Achilles’ tendon injury early last year, the Angolan Football Federation said on Monday.
Gilberto, who helped holders Al Ahli qualify for the African Champions League semi-finals on Sunday, was included in a 24-man squad for the African Nations Cup qualifier against Kenya in Nairobi on Saturday.
Gilberto suffered the injury in a friendly against Morocco in January 2006 and was out of action for 18 months, missing out on the World Cup finals in Germany.
Angola have already qualified for the Nations Cup finals in Ghana in January.
