CURITIBA, Brazil, May 19 (Reuters) - Corinthians got a goal in each half and some help from the referee to beat Athletico Paranaense 2-0 away in Brazil’s Serie A on Sunday.
Vagner Love gave the visitors the lead with a header after 13 minutes and Pedrinho made it 2-0 four minutes from the end.
Between the two strikes the home side had two goals chalked off for offside.
In Sunday’s other games Fortaleza won 3-1 at Chapecoense, a late goal gave Goias a 1-0 victory over Botafogo, and newly promoted CSA are still looking for their first win after losing 2-0 at Internacional.
Sao Paulo moved into third place in the table with a 0-0 draw at home to Bahia earlier in the day. Defending champions Palmeiras lead the league by a point from Atletico Mineiro. (Reporting by Andrew Downie; editing by Pritha Sarkar)
