RIO DE JANEIRO, Oct 27 (Reuters) - A late goal from Marlos Moreno, his first since March 2016, kept the Brazilian title race alive on Saturday as Flamengo came from behind to draw 1-1 with league leaders Palmeiras at the Maracana stadium.
Luiz Felipe Scolari’s side seized the lead four minutes into the second half through striker Dudu, who took advantage of slack defending to score from just inside the box.
But Moreno, the Colombian winger who is at Flamengo on loan from Manchester City, cut in from the left 10 minutes from time to rifle home from 12 metres out and level the scores.
The result prevented Palmeiras from opening up a seven-point gap at the top of the Serie A.
Instead, they remain four points ahead of the Rio side with seven matches still to play. (Reporting by Andrew Downie; Editing by Greg Stutchbury)
