Soccer-Huddersfield's Kongolo ruled out until next month with hamstring injury

Oct 5 (Reuters) - Huddersfield Town defender Terence Kongolo will be sidelined for up to five weeks with a hamstring injury, manager David Wagner confirmed on Friday.

Dutchman Kongolo, who has started all seven league games for Huddersfield so far this season, was carried off the pitch in last Saturday’s 2-0 defeat by Tottenham Hotspur after over-stretching in the first half.

“Terence Kongolo will miss the game with a hamstring injury, he will be out for four to five weeks I think,” Wagner told a news conference ahead of Saturday’s trip to Burnley.

Kongolo’s fellow defender Christopher Schindler faces a late fitness test after the German picked up a knock to his knee against Tottenham.

Basement side Huddersfield are without a league win this season and have lost five out of their seven matches so far, including the last three.

Wagner said Huddersfield had to seize their opportunities against 12th-placed Burnley but warned his players that they will not have it easy against Burnley.

Sean Dyche’s side have overcome a dismal start to the campaign and are looking for their third straight win.

“Every new game is a new chance. We have a chance and have to make sure we’re focused on ourselves and the performance,” the German added.

“It is only us who can turn it, we can’t wait for someone to give us a present. Burnley are a team which is well organised, good work ethic, good fighting spirit.” (Reporting by Shrivathsa Sridhar in Bengaluru Editing by Keith Weir)
