Los Angeles FC has signed Haitian 18-year-old attacker Steeve Saint-Duc, the team announced Tuesday.
Saint-Duc will be added to LAFC’s roster when the secondary transfer window opens on July 10.
A product of Haiti’s youth national team, Saint-Duc was named Most Valuable Player after earning Golden Boot honors at the Caribbean Football Union’s 2016 U-17 Championship. Saint-Duc also captained Haiti’s U-17 squad at the CONCACAF U-17 Championship last year.
“At just 18 years old, Steeve has the best years of his career ahead of him,” said LAFC EVP of soccer operations and general manager John Thorrington in a team release. “We look forward to helping Steeve with his development and continued growth as a professional.”
LAFC also announced that it has waived forward Rodrigo Pacheco.
Pacheco appeared in one contest this season, subbing in for 17 minutes in a 5-0 loss to Atlanta United on April 7. LAFC acquired Pacheco on a one-year loan from Argentine club Lanus on Sept. 6, 2017.
