LA Galaxy defender Rolf Feltscher, injured in training last week, will miss four months after undergoing right shoulder surgery Tuesday.
The team announced that Feltscher had his pectoralis major tendon repaired at the Kerlan-Jobe Institute at Cedars-Sinai in Santa Monica, Calif.
Feltscher, a 27-year-old Venezuelan who was born in Switzerland, has started seven of the Galaxy’s first eight games this season in his initial MLS campaign. He has one assist.
He has experience with teams in Spain, Italy, Germany and Wales. Feltscher also has played 18 games for the Venezuelan national team.
The Galaxy (3-4-1) go on the road to face the Houston Dynamo on Saturday.
