Atlanta United midfielder Darlington Nagbe will be sidelined two to three months with a right adductor injury, the team announced Tuesday.
Hours after announcing Nagbe’s injury, Atlanta signed Argentine defensive midfielder Eric Remedi to a multi-year deal using Targeted Allocation Money.
Nagbe was injured during Sunday’s game against the Portland Timbers.
Earlier this week, Nagbe was named to play in the MLS All-Star Game in Atlanta on Aug. 1.
Nagbe, 27, has three assists but no goals in 17 games this season.
He played his first seven seasons with Portland and scored 27 goals for the Timbers.
Remedi joins Atlanta as a discovery signing. The 23-year-old won’t be available until the secondary transfer window opens July 10.
Remedi has played his entire career for Argentine first-division side Banfield, making 68 appearances.
