LONDON, March 23 (Reuters) - Soccer news in brief from around the world:
* Germany winger David Odonkor expects to return to action with Real Betis next month, after recovering from an injury to his kneecap sustained in a Euro 2008 qualifier against Cyprus in November.
“I am feeling good and will be back playing within four weeks. It has been tough, but I will return fit and keen to improve my contribution to Betis,” Odonkor told Spanish sports daily Marca.
The 23-year-old has only made three league starts for Betis since moving from Borussia Dortmund for six million euros in the close season.
* Bulgarian players and coaches will wear ribbons in support of five Bulgarian nurses sentenced to death for infecting Libyan children with HIV when they host Albania in a Euro 2008 qualifier.
Bulgaria and its allies say the medics are innocent and have stepped up diplomatic pressure on Libya to release them.
