SINGAPORE, Aug 6 (Reuters) - Soccer news in brief from around the world.
* Former Everton striker Daniel Amokachi has been named the new coach of former African champions Enyimba, the club’s Web site www.enyimbafc.net said on Monday.
However, the 34-year-old Amokachi will effectively be the club’s number two to Belgian-born technical director Maurice Cooreman, who led Enyimba to the league title in May.
Amokachi was a teenage star in Belgium with FC Brugge before going on to play for Everton in England and Turkish side Besiktas. He also played for Nigeria at two World Cup finals in 1994 and 1998.
* Two of Egypt’s leading clubs parted company with their French coaches at the weekend as former France manager Henri Michel quit Zamalek while Patrice Neveu was fired by Ismaili.
