July 2 (Reuters) - Sports Direct’s retail chief Karen Byers has quit after 28 years with the company, according to a report by the Press Association on Tuesday.
Her decision to leave the company was announced to senior store staff and area managers on Monday morning on a conference call, the report said, adding that no replacement had been hired yet.
Mike Ashley, who owns the sportswear retailer, had referred to Byers as the person who “runs Sports Direct”, according to the report.
Sports Direct did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
