Tropical Storm Eta expected to become hurricane by Sunday night

Nov 1 (Reuters) - Tropical Storm Eta is forecast to strengthen into a hurricane on Sunday night with its center expected to approach the northeastern coast of Nicaragua on Monday, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said on Sunday.

Eta was about 305 miles (490 km) east-northeast of Puerto Cabezas, Nicaragua, with maximum sustained winds of 65 miles per hour (105 kph), the NHC said.

A hurricane warning has been issued for the coast of Nicaragua.

Eta is expected to make landfall within the hurricane warning area in Nicaragua on Monday night or early on Tuesday and move inland over northern Nicaragua through early Wednesday, the forecaster said.
