Chevron returning crews, restoring output at two offshore oil platforms

HOUSTON, Oct 11 (Reuters) - Chevron Corp said on Thursday it is returning workers and restoring output at two Gulf of Mexico oil-production platforms that were shut-in ahead of Hurricane Michael.

Oil and drilling companies had evacuated more than 90 production platforms and drilling rigs, removing 42 percent of oil production and nearly a third of natural gas production from offshore fields as the hurricane advanced through the eastern Gulf. (Reporting by Gary McWilliams)
