Suez shares to exit French CAC-40 July 22

PARIS, July 1 (Reuters) - Suez LYOE.PA shares will be removed from French indices and notably the CAC-40 .FCHI blue-chip index as of July 22, ahead of the merger of the French utility group with Gaz de France GAZ.PA, NYSE Euronext said on Tuesday.

The shares of the new entity GDF Suez will replace the current Gaz de France shares GAZ.PA, the statement said.

The replacement of the Suez shares in the indices — CAC-40, SBF120, SBF250 and CAC AllShares — will be decided at the next meeting of the Expert Commission’s Indices Committee.

As a result, the CAC-40 will be temporarily calculated with 39 stocks instead of 40 from July 22. (Reporting by Dominique Vidalon; Editing by David Holmes)
