United Airlines profit rises with higher fares

NEW YORK, April 17 (Reuters) - United Airlines on Tuesday said quarterly adjusted net income rose, as higher fares helped offset the costs of fuel and a rash of winter storms.

The third-largest U.S. airline by passenger traffic posted adjusted net income of $143 million, or 50 cents per share, for the first quarter. (Reporting by Alana Wise Editing by Bill Rigby)
