Karzai says Afghan neighbours key to terror fight

THE HAGUE (Reuters) - Afghan President Hamid Karzai told an international conference with delegates from Pakistan and Iran on Tuesday that Afghanistan needed regional cooperation to tackle terrorism.

“I welcome the growing recognition that without the true cooperation of Afghanistan’s neighbours, the victory over terrorism cannot be assured,” Karzai told the start of one-day conference in the Hague, welcoming a new U.S. strategy to quell a Taliban-led insurgency by addressing regional instability.
