BP says deal with U.S. government ends criminal probes

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - BP’s deal with the U.S. government to settle allegations of propane price manipulation includes an agreement with the Justice Department to end any ongoing criminal probes of BP America’s energy trading, the head of the company’s U.S. subsidiary said on Thursday.

The Justice Department has also agreed not to bring additional criminal charges against BP for its deadly March 2005 Texas refinery explosion or the 2006 pipeline leaks in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska, BP America said in a release.
