Brazil's Democratas party will launch presidential candidate in 2018

SAO PAULO (Reuters) - Brazil’s conservative Democratas party will launch a presidential candidate in 2018, ending the polarization between the PSDB and the PT parties started in 1994, House speaker Rodrigo Maia said on Monday.

Maia said he will not run for president, opting instead to seek re-election as a lower house representative for the state of Rio de Janeiro.
