Cabinet meeting on Brexit unlikely ahead of next week - UK government source

LONDON (Reuters) - It is unlikely that a cabinet meeting of British Prime Minister Theresa May’s top ministers to discuss Brexit will take place ahead of next week, a government source said on Thursday.

Local media have reported that May will convene an emergency session of her cabinet in the coming days to secure consensus on the so-called Northern Ireland backstop, the main obstacle to securing a deal to leave the European Union.
