BEIJING (Reuters) - China’s trade surplus with the United States stood at $29.41 billion (£23.43 billion) in June, Reuters calculations based on Chinese customs data showed on Tuesday, up from a $27.89 billion surplus a month earlier.
For the first half of the year, China’s trade surplus with the United States totalled $121.12 billion.
U.S.-China relations have been strained by the global coronavirus pandemic and other issues. On Friday, U.S. President Donald Trump said the relationship with China had been “severely damaged”, adding that he was not thinking about a Phase 2 U.S.-China trade deal.
