Argentine Zamora suspended after failing EPO test

(Reuters) - Argentine Daniel Zamora, who won the mountains classification at this season’s Tour of San Juan, was provisionally suspended after failing a test for the banned blood-booster erythropoietin (EPO), the International Cycling Union said on Tuesday.

The UCI records show that the 32-year-old Zamora failed the test on Jan. 30, midway through the week long race in Argentina.

Zamora, who rides for Agrupacion Virgen De Fatima, finished the race 12th overall.
