ECB loosens its bond-buying rules

FRANKFURT (Reuters) - The European Central Bank will loosen its bond-purchasing rules in January, its president said on Thursday, lowering its debt purchase maturity limit to one year from the existing two years.

The bank will also buy bonds yielding below the ECB’s deposit rate “to the extent necessary”, Mario Draghi said.
